Your Local Stop Smoking Services across St Helens and Knowsley

Knowsley & St Helens Smokefree services offer one to one and group support, in a variety of settings including community, home visits, pharmacies, workplaces, hospitals, shopping centres, health centres and clinics. We offer support to anyone aged 12 and over who smokes & lives, works or is registered with a GP in Knowsley or St Helens areas.

How can we help you quit?

We offer a full treatment package that includes professional advice and support throughout your quit attempt to help you stay motivated. All treatment plans offer access to FREE (for those clients receiving free prescriptions) or reduced cost Nicotine Replacement Therapy via a voucher scheme. Other stop smoking therapies such as Champix and Zyban can be requested from your GP or at participating pharmacies.


Hospital Settings

We have dedicated Hospital stop smoking advisors supporting patients, visitors and staff on site at Whiston Hospital near the main entrance every Tuesday 3:00pm till 4:30pm and Friday 9:30am till 11:00am.

In St Helens, patients, visitors or staff can access a session held in Peasley Cross site every Thursday between 10am and 11am.


Smokefree St Helens HUB - Smoke Free Drop in Sessions Available

You can simply drop-in to our Smokefree drop in sessions open six days a week with no appointment needed. Our team of friendly staff will get you started on your quit plan without delay. Click link above to view availability.


Quit Support by mobile or email

If you don't feel like you have the time to visit sessions, you can take full advantage of our Quit Buddy text or email digital services. We offer a 12 week programme with support in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you. Nicotine replacement therapy is also offered after registering a quit date, when you will receive a code, which is exchanged at participating Pharmacies in both areas. Our pharmacy stop smoking service is offered in locations across both areas. The pharmacy service offers practical and convenient support on a one to one basis to suit your needs and help you quit. Patients are eligible for free NHS treatment at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching hospitals NHS Trust if they are: Ordinarily resident in the UK or: Overseas visitors, but entitled to free NHS services under the National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations
