Our Wards - Whiston Hospital - Ward 2E - Postnatal and Antenatal Care
Ward 2E consists of 37 beds, 20 postnatal beds and 17 antenatal beds. Antenatal care is given to women who are considered to have high risk pregnancies and women who need to have an induction of labour. Postnatal care is given to women and babies who are not able to have an early discharge and require a longer stay in hospital.

Visiting Restrictions Remain In Place Across Our Hospitals
From 19 July 2021:
Visiting remains suspended at our hospitals including in A&E with the following exceptions:
- Patients receiving end of life care
- A parent / responsible adult visiting a child
- Carer supporting a patient with mental health issue such as dementia, learning disabilities or specific rehabilitation needs
- Maternity - one birth partner permitted to attend appointments, throughout labour and limited post-natal visiting
Any visiting must be agreed with the nurse / midwife in charge of the ward / department BEFORE coming to the hospital.
No other visitors are permitted to visit any other ward / department at any time.
