Outstanding Contribution Award for AHP Dawn

Dawn Hardie, Co-chair of the Building a Multicultural Environment (BAME) Network at STHK has received a special Royal College of Nursing Award for her outstanding contribution to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) in Health and Social Care.

Dawn, who works as a Clinical Quality Specialist, was nominated for her dedication in leading and developing the Trust’s BAME Staff Network since it was formed at the beginning of the pandemic.

As part of her role in the Network, Dawn has helped to improve prayer facilities for Muslim colleagues and provide pastoral support for those going through difficult times, being an all-round champion for black and ethnic minority colleagues right across the Trust.

Claire Scrafton, Deputy Director of HR and Governance said “Dawn has worked tirelessly over the last 2 years to support her colleagues and has helped to make positive changes to benefit staff. She is a credit to the Trust and we are all so proud of her achievements.”

Dawn was one of only ten people in the North West, to be recognised at the RCN Awards for her work in ED&I.
