Volunteering at Whiston and
St Helens hospitals

The smooth running of the hospitals would not be possible without the involvement of the Trust's wonderful volunteers. They generously give their time to help the Trust provide excellent care and services on behalf of our patients, visitors and staff.

Over 750 people volunteer across the two hospitals, helping in many ways such as visiting and spending time with patients, meeting and greeting supporting hospital staff and assisting the spiritual care team.

Fundraising for our services

The continued support of those who raise money for our hospitals is invaluable. All donations are gratefully received and they make such a difference to so many people.

Whether it is donations left through legacies or from the many fantastic deeds of our fundraising supporters, such as; charity balls, activity events, bingo nights or marathons, every penny raised goes a long way towards helping patients and their families.

If you would like to find out more about how you can donate, or where your money will be spent, please click in the 'How to raise funds' button to the left of this page.

Patients are eligible for free NHS treatment at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching hospitals NHS Trust if they are: Ordinarily resident in the UK or: Overseas visitors, but entitled to free NHS services under the National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations
