About Us

The Department of Reconstructive Prosthetics provides custom-made facial and body prosthetics to patients who have lost physical structures due to burns, cancer, trauma or congenital anomalies.

Our team provide the following clinics:

Prosthetic Clinic

Facial prosthetics eg eyes ears and noses. Body prosthetics eg  fingers, nipples, lower leg contour defects. Custom-made chest implants, surgical planning models and teaching models

Micropigmentation Clinic

Paramedical tattoo to restore eyebrows (alopecia/burns) lip outline (cleft lip/burns)  nipples (breast cancer) and some scars.

Scar Clinic

Advice and help with the management of keloid and hypertrophic scarring, burns masks and pressure splints.

Electrolysis Clinic

To remove unwanted hair after skin grafts and other related hair growth.

Skin Camouflage Clinic

To help camouflage burns, scars, birthmarks, and many other skin complaints.

Laser Clinic

Treatment of venous malformations, certain skin lesions/scars and hair removal for polycystic ovary syndrome.

Patients are eligible for free NHS treatment at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching hospitals NHS Trust if they are: Ordinarily resident in the UK or: Overseas visitors, but entitled to free NHS services under the National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations
