External Auditor Appointment

Following changes to local external audit arrangements in the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Local Audit (Health Service Bodies Auditor Panel and Independence) Regulations 2015, NHS trusts and clinical commissioning groups need to procure and appoint their own external auditors for 2017/18 and subsequent financial years.

At its meeting on 28th September 2016 the Trust Board agreed to the re-appointment of Grant Thornton UK LLP as the external auditors of the Trust for a further three years with an option to extend up to two years. This decision was taken on the advice of the Trust’s Auditor Panel. The external auditors also provide an independent review of the Trust’s charitable funds accounts.
